Judicial Watch Founder Tom Fitton: FBI Investigations “Irredeemably Compromised”

Judicial Watch president Tom Fitton said on FNC’s ‘Tucker Carlson Tonight’ on Monday that the FBI probe of Hillary Clinton’s emails and Robert Mueller’s investigation of President Trump have been “irredeemably compromised” by the agency’s political connections.

“The leadership of the FBI was ruined by James Comey,” Fitton said of the former director. “And the politics of trying to protect Hillary Clinton. The Justice Department and the FBI became arms of the Clinton campaign last year, and frankly, it continued into the Trump administration, as we saw with the ambush interview of Gen. Flynn.

TOM FITTON: The FBI didn’t want to give us these documents, we only found out about them through another lawsuit, because the FBI, when we asked them for Clinton-Lynch tarmac records, said they didn’t have anything… They lied to us…

We had a federal lawsuit, they said they couldn’t find anything. But another lawsuit about tarmac records at the Justice Dept. showed records that involved the FBI… They show that the FBI was more concerned about a whistleblower in a local Phoenix police department, they think, who was talking about the meeting and how it happened, than the meeting itself…

Remember that meeting [between Bill Clinton and Attorney General Loretta Lynch] was never supposed to be disclosed. It was only uncovered thanks to a local ABC News reporter in Phoenix, and then law enforcement backed up accounts of the meeting… We haven’t gotten any documents showing the FBI is concerned about the meeting itself, which according to the attorney general at the time, Gen. Lynch, she admitted it cast a shadow over her Clinton investigation…

She made the final decision not to prosecute Hillary Clinton a few weeks after meeting her husband, a witness, and putative target…

The leadership of the FBI was ruined by James Comey and the politics of trying to protect Hillary Clinton. The Justice Department and the FBI became arms of the Clinton campaign last year, and frankly, it continued into the Trump administration as we saw with the ambush interview of Gen. Flynn.

There is a significant crisis not only at the FBI but at the Justice Department. We have this other FBI agent involved in the Clinton investigation, also involved in the Russia investigation. A key decision-maker in both investigations. Both investigations, in my view, have become irredeemably compromised.

The Clinton investigation needs to be re-opened, and the Mueller investigation needs to be shut down until we figure out how badly it is being politicized. …read more
