Lewandowski, Bossie close to six-figure book deal – Politics, News, Polls, Economy, Wellbeing, and World

President Donald Trump’s former campaign aides Corey Lewandowski and David Bossie together are closing in on a high six-figure book deal with Hachette Book Group’s conservative imprint Center Street, a source close to the negotiations said.

Mel Berger of WME Entertainment, the agent for Trump’s first campaign manager Lewandowski and former deputy campaign manager Bossie, has fielded offers for the duo, and they are near agreement with the same imprint that has carried former House Speaker Newt Gingrich’s books.

A Center Street spokesperson declined to comment, and it’s possible the deal could still fall apart. Berger, Lewandowski and Bossie did not immediately provide comment.

Bossie and Lewandowski were interested in joining the administration, and Trump considered bringing them on as senior advisers as of last month. It’s not clear how their plans to write a book together would affect any White House ambitions.

The duo has been staunch surrogates of the president on cable news and have helped to defend him amid new revelations about the Russia investigation.

Lewandowski had a book offer with Harper Collins for $1.2 million after he was fired from the campaign in 2016 over his rough handling of a reporter at a campaign event. But the deal was ultimately rejected because of a non-disclosure agreement that he and many other campaign officials signed to work with Trump.

Lewandowski and Bossie together have so far fallen short of the million-dollar mark, the source close to the deal-making said.
