In time for National Autism Awareness Month, we asked people on the spectrum, and their families, to tell us what autism is — and what it isn’t.
In the video above, they give us a glimpse into life with autism, a disorder that now affects 1 in 68 children, and also bust myths surrounding it. “Autism is not contagious,” says one mom.
“Autism is awesome!” says one young man on the spectrum.
